STEP 2:

INSERT WHEELS

  • Push firmly to insure metal meets plastic base.

STEP 3:
SCREW SIDEPOSTS TO BASE

NOTE: When working with SIDEPOSTS, it is VERY IMPORTANT to distinguish between the TOP and the BOTTOM of the sideposts!

The TOP of each SIDEPOST has two TOP TRIM SLOTS cut into it for the TOP TRIM SLATS.

The BOTTOM of each SIDEPOST is solid with just a pre-drilled hole at the bottom.

The BOTTOM is the end that screws into the BASE.

TO SCREW SIDEPOST IN:

  • Turn BASE onto its side perpendicular to the floor.

  • From the underside of the base you can see a “screw tube” at each of the four corners. Insert a SCREW through the screw tube at one of the top corners of the BASE.

  • Line up the hole on the bottom of the SIDEPOST so the protruding screw goes into the hole.

IMPORTANT: POSITION the SIDEPOSTS according to the picture shown.

Take an extra moment here to picture your Earth Tower. Remember! You’ll be sliding all the side slats into the slots on the SIDEPOSTS, so make sure SLOTS are positioned accordingly before screwing the SIDEPOST into the BASE (see images.)

  • Then pull the SIDEPOST so it fits into the SQUARE POCKET at the corner of the BASE, and the bottom of the sidepost is firmly against the base.

  • Hold the SIDEPOST firmly to the BASE with one hand while you screw it into place with the other hand.

DO NOT SCREW TIGHTLY! Screw in about 90%. Sidepost will be a little loose (don't worry, you'll tighten it down later!)

  • Now do 2nd SIDEPOST (again only screwing sidepost into base about 90%) …

  • turn BASE 180º and screw in the 3rd and 4th SIDEPOSTS the same way.

  • Turn Earth Tower UPRIGHT onto its wheels. The 4 sideposts will be a bit loose.

STEP 4:
INSERT TOP TRIM SLATS

  • At this point, it may be helpful to use RUBBERBANDS around the SIDEPOSTS while placing the TOP TRIM SLATS into the TOP TRIM SLOTS.

  • Slide the four TOP TRIM SLATS into the TOP TRIM SLOTS on the top of each SIDEPOST.

STEP 5:
ASSEMBLE TOP FRAME

  • Take 4 TOP FRAME PIECES (that look like an oblong “Z”) and assemble them together.

  • IMPORTANT: always keep the overlap on the top! (see DIAGRAM).

  • Rotate screws into the holes of the overlaying frame pieces until about a 1/4" of the screw tip is popping through the other end.

STEP 7:
FULLY TIGHTEN SIDEPOSTS TO BASE

  • Lay the Earth Tower back on to the floor and finish screwing the Base Screws firmly into place.
STEP 8:
INSERT WATERING RESERVOIR AND COVER

  • Slide WATERING RESERVOIR through the opening in the TOP FRAME and place the TOP COVER on top.

STEP 9:
LAY DRAINAGE FABRIC ON TOP OF THE BASE

  • The FABRIC allows water to drain out while keeping your potting mix in.

STEP 10:
INSERT SLATS

Slide the SLATS into the SLOTS on the SIDEPOSTS. starting with the longest slats and moving your way up to the top.
